Jahar Tsarnaev Rolling Stone CoverYes you read it right! On the latest issue of Rolling Stone is Boston’s bomber Jahar Tsarnaev.

Although we are not pleased to be publishing this article we’d like to give Rolling stone the the benefit of the doubt and believe they meant well.

Updated on their Facbook page early yesterday morning Rolling Stones posted the following update: In our new issue, contributing editor Janet Reitman delivers a deeply reported account of the life of Boston bomber Jahar Tsarnaev. Here are five revelations about Tsarnaev from our latest cover story:

Backlash from readers and other media outlets have already began to voice their opinion on the cover, and of course almost all being negative.

Facebook follower Jenna commented on Rolling Stones Facebook page saying “Being from Boston, I take this personally offensive that this s*!t bag is even a thought, never mind given the cover!”… “How about putting Jeff Bauman on the cover, who lost both his legs during this horrific event,” … “Thanks for adding even more insult to injury! Rolling Stone has hit an all time low” … “Disgraceful!”

Tim shows his anger by cancelling his subscription! “Been a subscriber since 1982 – cancelling tonight. I am beyond words….” is the comment Tim posted on Rolling Stones Facebook page after finding out of the new cover

Bullett Media went to publish their article titled “Here Are Some Popular Ways to React to This Rolling Stone Cover”.

Definitely not a response Rolling Stone was probably expecting. People using profanity, cancelling their subscription and getting all around bad press about the new cover.

UPDATE: CVS pharmacy is the latest to be added to the list of people not in support of Rolling Stones latest issue. A rep for CVS has made a statement on why they will not be selling Jahar Tsarnaev’s Rolling Stone issue “As a company with deep roots in New England and a strong presence in Boston, we believe this is the right decision out of respect for the victims of the attack and their loved ones.”

Official Statement from Rolling Stones regarding the latest issues: Our hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, and our thoughts are always with them and their families. The cover story we are publishing this week falls within the traditions of journalism and Rolling Stone’s long-standing commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage of the most important political and cultural issues of our day. The fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is young, and in the same age group as many of our readers, makes it all the more important for us to examine the complexities of this issue and gain a more complete understanding of how a tragedy like this happens.
