‘Green Lantern’ Tops Weekend Box Office

By on June 19, 2011

Green Lantern took the top spot at this weekend’s box office, bringing in $53 million in ticket sales.

Second place went to Super 8, which had a solid second week with $20.5 million.

Third place went to the Jim Carrey film Mr. Popper’s Penguins, with $18 million, followed by X-Men: First Class with $11.5 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Hangover Part II, which surpassed the original Hangover’s income at the box office this weekend!

FYI: Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (starring Rachel McAdams and Owen Wilson) took in $5.1 million in limited release and will likely pass both Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Match Point’s box office sales.
