You just had your birthday. What are you hoping for from the upcoming year? To focus on myself and my work and to move all press on me to focus on the work I do. Also, I’d like to do more work in India and travel to Malawi.

What is your advice to others about how to cope with adversity? Stay true to yourself always. At the end of the day, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and be content with the choices you’ve made, and will make, in your life. Go with your gut!

Paramount Pictures has acquired the rights to Justin Bieber’s life story and is planning to make a biopic—not a documentary short, but a full-length biopic—starring the teen sensation himself. But while you might think this is just a fancy way of saying “concert film,” Bieber promises that they’ll be “telling the story.” Documentary specialist Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, It Might Get Loud, Waiting for Superman) is going to direct the feature, which will feature plenty of performance footage. And yes, it’s going to be in 3-D, just like the Jonas Brothers’ movie was.

On his character in the film: “In Step Up 3D, I play a character named Luke Katcher, who is an aspiring film director inspired by dance. The film follows Luke, and a group of dancers—which he lives with—on a journey to win a huge underground dance battle that could possibly save them from some troubles they have found themselves in. It’s a high-energy film packed full of dance, with a nice heartfelt story involved.”

On his favorite hobbies: “I am a huge surfer. I have been surfing since I was a kid growing up in Florida. Apart from that, I am also a really big nerd. I’ve been a computer geek since the age of seven, when I got my first computer. It was a 386DXII. It was then that I fell in love for the first time. I spent so many hours on that thing. At the age of 11 I built my first computer and started to learn how to do my art on the computer, along with other things, like writing code and designing. It is still something that I truly enjoy.”

On the tattoos that he has: “The tattoo on my left forearm is an astrological sign for Scorpio; an ‘M’ shape with a scorpion tail on the end, which represents my astrological sign as well as my last name. There is also a Japanese-style wave surrounding it, representing Scorpio as a water sign because I grew up in the water surfing. And it is something that truly represents me. The tattoo on my right arm is the Korean letters that spell love.”

Lady Gaga tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Lisa Robinson that she tries to avoid having sex because she is afraid of depleting her creative energy—“I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina.”

She also says that she doesn’t trust anybody and doesn’t know if she ever will. Gaga tells Robinson, “I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist.” Regarding men, she says, “I’m drawn to bad romances. And my song [“Bad Romance”] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I’m quite celibate now; I don’t really get time to meet anyone.”

As reported by People , only, after serving 13 full days in a solitary cell, Lindsay Lohan was freed from a Lynwood, Calif., jail in the wee hours of Monday morning.

“She was released at 1:35 a.m.,” Los Angeles Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said outside the jail. “She has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center. And she will now be under the supervision of the L.A. County probation department. This concludes her custody.”
